Hand-tufted Carpets
The carpet tufting factory was established to provide more jobs and add to the skill set of the locals while expanding the Doi Tung product line for a new market. This factory exclusively creates carpets to be sold under the Doi Tung brand. Our specialty is custom made to order carpets testified by a client list from all over the world. The carpets range in size and shape to fit customer needs. Materials range from cotton, hemp, wool and jute to name a few.
The strength necessary to hold the hand-tufting guns steady for extended periods of time to create the desired patterns makes this task better suited for the younger generation. This helps deter some migration of the communities' younger workforce into major cities in order to find work.
