Memorandum between Kasama City and Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage (Ibaraki Shimbun 30 April 2015) (8 May 15)
On the centre stage of the Kasama Ceramic Festival, the signing ceremony was held between Kasama City and Mae Fah Luang Foundation of Thailand; from the latter, His Excellency Disnadda Diskul and his wife Mrs Puangroi Diskul attended. The Memorandum is for the co-operation on the ceramic art between the two parties.
Mae Fah Luang Foundation has been doing the opium eradication projects in the Golden Triangle in the northern Thailand by giving the people alternative industries including ceramic production since 1988. The Memorandum stipulates the exchange of the artists, strengthening of the position of both parties as the ceramic producers, development of friendship etc. Mr Shinju Yamaguchi (mayor) and His Excellency Disnadda Diskul signed the Memorandum with Mr Hashimoto (governor of Ibaraki prefecture) as the witness.
Mr Shinju Yamaguchi spoke that both parties shall brush up each other so that the ceramic art products of Kasama and Thailand shall be the top of the world.
His Excellency Disnadda Diskul spoke that both parties may find some difficult moments during the long co-operation but we shall overcome everything and move forward step by step toward our mutual goal.
