The Mae Fah Luang Foundation launches the (14 Nov 11)

M.R. Disnadda Diskul (fourth from left), Secretary General of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage, recently presided over the launch of “Kla…Dee” or the “Sustainable Flood Relief Project” aimed to aid flood-affected people for both the short and long term by building upon the principles of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej – first understand, then reach out and develop, by giving people the means to change themselves; along with the initiative of HRH Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother to help people to help themselves. The project is intended to encourage those affected by the floods to revive their lives with dignity and through their own capability, and so build a stronger community. The project prepared the “3 Ready” flood relief package – Ready to Eat (ingredients and dry food), Ready to Grow (seedlings) and Ready to Plant (seeds) – to one million flood affected people, to lead them on a sustainable road to recovery.

Partners collaborating in this project include the Crown Property Bureau, IKEA, SCG, and the Siam Commercial Bank.  For those wanting to help contribute to solving the problems facing those affected by the floods, please visit www.maefahluang.org/kladee
