OBJECTIVES AND KEY PRIORITIES
OBJECTIVES
The key objectives to be achieved by the Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park are as follows: |

- To collect and conserve artefacts and antiques from throughout Northern Thailand to add to the collection
- To promote the study of Lanna culture through an exhibition featuring ancient artefacts and pursue the ongoing development of exhibits, including some specially designed to impart knowledge to children
- To undertake research and collate information related to traditional northern music as well as to record such music for posterity
- To stage cultural performances
- To create a centre for northern Thai artists to create their works of art and promote the exchange of ideas
KEY PRIORITIES
The priorities are to:

Upgrade staff competency in museum management and techniques |

Conduct a conservation survey of the collection for the purpose of applying for preservation support |
 |
Establish a research centre and library for the study of art history of the region |
 |
Develop a communication programme for the people of Chiang Rai |
A museum volunteer programme is open to both the local and international community has been initiated and will be complemented by a study/lecture programme.
The Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park opened to the public on December 1, 2003.

The Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park is open daily from 10.00 - 18.00 hours, except on Mondays. |

Upon request, select areas on the premises can be made available as an event venue for theme dinners and private parties. |
